Effects of Habitat Differences on Microbial Communities during Litter Decomposing in a Subtropical Forest

چکیده
The differences between aquatic and terrestrial habitats could change microbial community composition regulate litter decomposition in a subtropical forest, but the linkage remains uncertain. Using phospholipid fatty acids (PLFAs), associated with organisms was monitored to characterize of communities forest floor, headwater stream, intermittent stream. Habitat type did not significantly affect concentrations total PLFA. However, (fungi, G+ bacteria, eukaryote) affected by microenvironment among habitats. Compared which more individual PLFAs were identified natural floor stream during whole period. PLFA reflected system early stage decomposition, they mainly later decomposition. We linked relationships found that decomposers drive rate Intriguingly, showed greatest correlation streams. These findings contribute understanding difference on

The Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungus Funneliformis mosseae Alters Bacterial Communities in Subtropical Forest Soils during Litter Decomposition
Bacterial communities and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) co-occur in the soil, however, the interaction between these two groups during litter decomposition remains largely unexplored. In order to investigate the effect of AMF on soil bacterial communities, we designed dual compartment microcosms, where AMF (Funneliformis mosseae) was allowed access (AM) to, or excluded (NM) from, a compart...
متن کاملDecomposing functional trait associations in a Chinese subtropical forest
Functional traits, properties of organisms correlated with ecological performance, play a central role in plant community assembly and functioning. To some extents, functional traits vary in concert, reflecting fundamental ecological strategies. While "trait syndromes" characteristic of e.g. fast-growing, early-successional vs. competitive, late-successional species are recognized in principle,...

15 صفحه اولCO2 enrichment and N addition increase nutrient loss from decomposing leaf litter in subtropical model forest ecosystems
As atmospheric CO2 concentration increases, many experiments have been carried out to study effects of CO2 enrichment on litter decomposition and nutrient release. However, the result is still uncertain. Meanwhile, the impact of CO2 enrichment on nutrients other than N and P are far less studied. Using open-top chambers, we examined effects of elevated CO2 and N addition on leaf litter decompos...
متن کاملEffects of forest fragmentation and habitat degradation on West African leaf-litter frogs.
Habitat degradation alters the dynamics and composition of anuran assemblages in tropical forests. The effects of forest fragmentation on the composition of anuran assemblages are so far poorly known. We studied the joint influence of forest fragmentation and degradation on leaf-litter frogs. We specifically asked whether the processes structuring leaf-litter anuran assemblages in fragmented fo...
